Special kids' rooms : my Spring picks!

One of my friends asked me to help her redesign her daughter's room, so I've been browsing many kids' related websites lately and I thought I would share with you some cool stuff I found. Can you tell spring is right around the corner? ;-)
Basic bookcase turned into a dollhouse, got a pen and some scrapbook paper?

This dot matrix rug is not just a rug, it's floor art!

Oh, the Sven clogs from 1974 are back!

Monday color mix : Neon

It's been a while since my last mix, and what better theme to start a bright new week than a good dose of [super trendy] neon... I don't use neon in my home a lot but in small touches, this can be a pretty fun statement, and the "dipped" neon paint effect shown on some pics below is really growing on me...

Easy DIY : Pimp your old cupboard!

Update it with the 2012 Pantone color :

with your brush, à la Jackson Pollock!

Chalkboard paint {again!}, but then, once it's painted,
have fun with the chalk and write your favorite poem
or a paragraph of your favorite book.

More Holiday DIY projects: gift wrapping!

Whether you're a really crafty person or just a DIY beginner, you can save a lot of money [and gain instant satisfaction] by customizing your gift wrapping: washi tape, kraft paper, old vintage newspapers or maps, a good dose of creativity, a few hours of your weekend and your gifts will look like they were made by a real pro, and remember the rule, the gift wrapping is just as important as its content. So have fun and happy crafting!

Trend alert : customize your white walls!

Loving this new "wall customization" trend that imitates real furniture. Cheaper than the real deal and so much more fun. Remember my post about going crazy with the sharpie pen? Well, it turns out I am not the only one with this crazy idea. Better off, some pros give here a lesson that with a white wall, a sharpened pencil or sharpie pen and a good dose of creativity, you can be your own Picasso. And remember, don't freak out, as long as you have a leftover can of the wall paint [always test that it is still usable before starting your project], covering up your Picasso moment is as easy as a fresh coat of paint. Fun, fun, fun I tell you!
