On Location :: Leafing Around

One of the best compliments I can get as a photographer is when I have a client come back for more pictures.   The last time I met this sweet family their little man was crawling around like there was no tomorrow.   Him and big sister are almost one year older now and very on the go!   Having a bunch of fall leaves around kept everyone busy and by the end of our time I think there was sufficient exhaustion (at least on the part of this photographer!)

I'm sharing a few of my favorite shots, starting with what is fast becoming one of my most favorite pictures of the year!    Enjoy....

On Location :: Growing up!

The last time I photographed this family, I could not post their pictures since they were still waiting for the adoption process to complete for their little man.    What a blessing for them to add this sweet little boy to their family!    He was a busy fella, but big sister was always there to help him focus....   Take a look at my favorites from our time together.

On Location :: Cherish

Meeting this sweet family was a treat for me.....not only where they super fun and easy going, but their love for each other translated so well to their pictures.

Very soon, this precious girl and her mama will say goodbye to father & husband as he leaves for a year long deployment.

I know they are cherishing every single moment before that happens...

Thinking of this family and reminding myself to cherish the time we have with one another!!

Thank you for your service to our country Travis, Michelle & Ky....

On Location :: Sisters

Sisters are different flowers from the same garden.

Recently had the pleasure of spending some time with these 2 cuties. I enjoyed watching them interact with each other and with my camera. After seeing the pictures from our photo shoot, their mother told me that the pictures really captured their personalities. I always find it amazing how a picture can tell you something about a person!

Here are a few of my favorite shots from our session together:

On Location :: Wedding Bells

My journey as a photographer has been a rewarding one...not only do I get to do something that I am extremely passionate about, but I also get to meet new people.    During my time as a photographer, I have turned down a handful of requests to do weddings.   The reason?  TOO MUCH PRESSURE!   A wedding day has many special moments...moments that really can't be duplicated.   What if missed one of those special moments?   That first kiss, the cake smush, the bouquet toss.

Recently, I received a request from a couple that I have alot of respect and admiration for.   The request was to be their "personal photographer" during the wedding of their daughter.    Not to replace or even supplement the real wedding photographer....just someone to tag along, be their shadow and capture moments, details and people for them.     At first, I was reluctant - I still felt like it was too much pressure.

But I'm starting to realize that you have to push yourself in order to grow.     Sometimes pushing yourself means you have to do stuff afraid.   For me, my faith in God allows me to draw on strength beyond my own.  In addition, I have special people in my life that support me, loan me equipment and give me the "Eye of the Tiger" speech when I need it (y'all know who ya are!).

I survived and enjoyed my day as a "personal photographer to the parents of the bride" (except for the extreme blistering on my feet from my cheap shoes)....here are some of my personal "detail" favorites from the day.   ENJOY!

On Location :: Little McKenzie

Introducing, my little friend McKenzie!  I had the pleasure of photographing her this weekend at a location here in the 'boro.    It took her a few minutes to warm up to my camera, but once she did - there was no stopping the smiles!   And those eyes.....wow!

Here are some shots from our time together....
